We will be running our awesome evidence-based group exercise program for older adults called Enhance®Fitness beginning January 6, 2020. The program uses simple, easy-to-learn movements that motivate individuals (particularly those with arthritis) to stay active throughout their life.

Classes will run Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 11:30-12:30 for 16 weeks.

Here are some benefits that participants often notice:
More energy, better balance, increases in upper body and lower body strength, more flexibility and range of motion, better sleep. more feelings of happiness, and sense of independence. Also, research has shown that, among older adults who participate in Enhance®Fitness, health costs were lowered each year by close to $1,000.

Call 724.438.2584 to enroll or come to our Welcome Center.

Moving For Better Balance is a 12-week, evidence based, group exercise program based on the principles of Tai Chi and designed especially for falls prevention. The program works to improve balance, muscle strength, flexibility, and mobility to enhance overall physical health. Participation in the program may also result in better mental health, reduced stress, improved memory and cognition, and increased self-esteem. Other evidence based, tai chi programs are coming to the YMCA in 2019, aimed at falls prevention and arthritis prevention and management. New cohorts of Moving for Better Balance begin several times per year. Participation in the initial 12-week cohort is free to everyone in the community. Starting with a participant’s second cohort, Moving for Better Balance is always free to members. Potential YMCA members may participate in additional cohorts for a fee of $120 per 12-week session.

Only 25 spaces per class! Call 724.438.2584 for more information or to register.
