November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. Fayette County has a significant presence of Type 2 Diabetes, have you been told you are diabetic or prediabetic?

The Uniontown Area YMCA is offering an amazing, evidence-based program called Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP). In the DPP program, trained lifestyle coaches facilitate a small group of adults to discuss behavior changes that can improve the health of participants.

Research has shown that YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can reduce the number of new cases of type 2 diabetes by as much as 58% and by 71% among adults aged 60 years or older. But this program is available for any age as long as you meet the requirements to qualify.

Our program begins in January of 2020, please call today to find out more or to schedule an intake interview. You can also learn more at www.ymca.net/diabetes-prevention Help your health in the new year, you'll be so glad you did!
