Swim Lesson Program Overview

At the YMCA, we offer swim lessons for all ages—starting as young as 3 months old through adult. Our Parent & Child classes help our youngest swimmers build comfort and safety in the water, and once children turn 3 years old, they can enter our progressive youth swim program independently.

Lessons run in four-week sessions, followed by a registration week to help families prepare for the next cycle.

Missed Class Policy: The YMCA does not offer make-up classes for missed lessons due to illness, vacations, or personal scheduling conflicts. If the Y must cancel a class for any reason, we will schedule a make-up session to ensure participants receive their full program experienc

Swim Lesson Evaluations:

Not sure which level to register for? Our team offers complimentary swim evaluations to ensure every child is placed in the class that best matches their swimming ability and comfort level. Please contact our Senior Aquatic Director to schedule an appointment.

Private Swim Lessons (Ages 3+)

Private Swim Lessons offer individualized, one-on-one instruction tailored to each swimmer’s unique needs and goals. Each private lesson is 30 minutes and is ideal for children or adults who benefit from focused attention, flexible scheduling, and customized skill development in a comfortable, supportive environment. All private swim lessons are 30-minutes

• Single Lesson: $30 YMCA Members | $40 Community Members
• Four Lesson Package: $105 YMCA Members | $145 Community Members

Semi-Private Swim Lessons (Ages 3+)

Semi-Private Swim Lessons at the YMCA provide personalized instruction in a small-group setting, typically for two to four swimmers of similar age or ability. Each 30-minute session allows for focused skill development while offering the motivation and fun of learning with a partner.

• Single Lesson (per participant): $20 YMCA Members | $25 Community Members
• Four Lesson Package (per participant): $65 YMCA Members | $85 Community Members
